There is no reason why not, however, if the idea is to modify your non-steam shower and turn it into a steam shower we do not advise this. Apart from the extra work you’d be creating for yourself which is highly unnecessary, there is literally no benefit to doing this as you would not be saving money by buying the two separately, in fact, you’d be at a loss. Furthermore, any item you modify would void your warranty which is another negative to the plan.
