You mention every time the shower is not in use turn off the electric and water supply. Why?
Your shower cabin or bath carries much electrics and various other items not found on basic showers. Would you leave your TV or computer on every day and night? The answer is no. Despite the control panel going to “standby”, this is not enough! Your electrics are placed within a bathroom location, all are certificated but suppose you have had a prolonged leak not noticed? This may still be safe but can ruin your electrical components, they are expensive and would not be covered by warranty. In addition, these products are not designed to be continuously supplied for what would be thousands of hours. Think about it! Simply turning off when not in use will prolong the life of your shower or bath electrics to the point whereby you would probably never need to replace these in the products lifetime well after your warranty expires! THINK SAFE, HELP THE ENVOIROMENT, SAVE MONEY.
In the case of water supply, again always turn off when the shower is not in use. As electrics, the life of your product will be greatly increased. This is common practice with washing machines, dishwashers etc. YOUR SHOWER IS NO DIFFERENT! The pipe work contained is vastly greater than a basic shower. If left on and a supply hose should burst for any reason and you are asleep, in another room, on holiday, you will be left with serious damage which could result in many thousands of pounds outlay. It does not need thinking about. ISOLATE YOUR WATER SOURCE EVERY TIME YOUR PRODUCT IS NOT IN USE. The worst that can happen will now be a burst pipe while in use, the person showering will notice this because water will stop coming out, in most cases leave the shower investigate, hear water leaking and turn off. In all, a potential around 4-5 litres of water. Not good but can be quickly resolved, towels can be used to absorb water and damage is kept to a minimum. Better than the thousands of litres that could potentially occur! Another fact: The chances of a supply pipe, water valve or any other pipe leaking is vastly reduced while in use simply because the water supply pressure drops to a low of approx 30% of when not in use.
